An Empirical Study On The Graduate Student Career Planning

This thesis mainly discussed the career planning level of graduate student under different variables and its impact. In this study, graduate students career planning includes cognitive level, decision level, behavior level, and correction feedback level. The independent variables are graduate students different background variables, it includes gender, grade, major, marriage status, home location, family monthly income, parents highest education qualification, students leader experience, part-time experience and career counseling experience. Dependent variables are that graduate students career planning level and its four levels. According to the clue, I designed a questionnaire about the status of graduate students career planning. I processed the questionnaire data through variance analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, T test and F test, etc. The main conclusions are as follows:the overall level of graduate students career planning level is very low; boy students' level is higher than girls' level, first and final year graduate students career planning level are higher than the second year, high-income families are higher than low-income families, the urbans' level are higher than rural areas', those who have students leader experience, internship experience and career counseling experience are higher than those without. And, graduate students of different major, educational level of parents, marriage status have no difference in career planning level; graduate students experience at school is a major factor that affects the level of career planning. For the above conclusions, the paper provides relevant recommendations from the graduate students personal and universities angle:graduate student should enhance the objective understanding of employment environment, establish a realistic and reasonable career goals timely, seek various career exploration channels, make various self-enhancement, assess career goals effectively and amend career plans timely. And, universities career planning counseling should cover the graduate group, they should consider graduate students diversity, should conceive the concept of career services for graduate students.
