Independent College Students' Career Planning Education Research

High education in China has focused on the cultivation of elites fora certain long period, and now its core is shifting to the training for themasses. As the consequence of this new stage, the issue of employmentfor college students has aroused great concern by all circles. It isdifficult for most of universities to relieve from the mounting pressure ofemployment via the conventional pattern, therefore, education oncareer planning has become extremely essential in any higher learninginstitutions. However, the development of student-oriented careerplaning discipline in most higher education institutions is still on the wayof initiative phase, which is far behind the level of the counterpart inwestern countries.The author of this thesis is trying to take Haidu College, QingdaoAgricultural University as its target group and do a large number ofresearches and analyses on the current situation of education oncareer planning, the attitudes of on-campus students to the newlysubject, the effective approaches to existent issues in the teaching andresearch process, etc. by means of documents, questionnaire surveysand interviews. As a result, the author assumes that there is still a longway to go on how to make the courses on career planning more usefuland available for lots of problems ranging from the lack awareness ofcareer planning to the limited investments in this field etc still exist.Inconclusion, a series of humble recommendations and feasible meanson the realization of accessible career planning have been listed bythe author as follows: First, enough attention to the education of careerplanning should be paid by related institutions. Second, on-campusstudents and staffs should hold a scientific conception on theimportance of career planning. Third, it is necessary to establish acompleted and reasonable teaching system for its healthy developments. Fourth, associations or organizations offering logisticsservice should be strengthened. Fifth, the exceptional faculty and staffshould be trained and equipped with professional knowledge.Furthermore, the higher learning institutions should enhance thestudents capabilities to carve out. All in all, the introduction on thepractices of employment, locations of ones ideal positions, the analysisof current jobs and the lectures on the processes of a position will begood for the graduations to involve in a new position successfully andto elevate their all-round competitiveness rapidly.
