The professional identity refers to the positive evaluation to one's career, such as positive attitude and positive behavior. The professional identity of the child-care workers in ShangHai, related to how much she loves her work and children, which is a guarantee for her to do work well. It is not only the requirement to the development of child-care workers to pay attention to their professional identity, but also a better serving to the preschool children and their parents. Therefore, it is a great significance to investigate the professional identity of the child-care workers in ShangHai.This paper aims at reveal the present situation of the professional identity of the child-care workers in ShangHai by using bibliography, questionnaire, and interviews. Then it studies the professional identity of the child-care workers in respect of their variables to analyze the reasons for the difference in the professional identity of the child-care workers in ShangHai, at last put forward the measures and suggestions to enhance their professional identity.What have been found out about questions are as follows:1. the overall level of professional identity of child-care workers in ShangHai is above normal, about 23% belong to low standard group,62%belong to moderate standard group,15%belong to advanced standard group; 2. there exist differences on professional identity of the child-care workers in ShangHai on these variables:nature of kindergarten, age of the child-care workers, years of serving in now kindergarten, the education background, professional salary which can been seen in the following aspects:1) the degree of professional identity of child-care workers in governmental kindergartens is obviously higher than that of child-care workers in non-governmental kindergartens; 2) the degree of professional identity of child-care workers aged above 46 is the highest, while those aged between 26 to 30 is the lowest; 3) the professional identity of child-care workers who have taught for 16 to 20 years in kindergartens is obviously higher than those for under 5 years and between 11 to 15 years; 4) child-care workers who has a bachelor degree are considered to be the lowest in professional identity while those graduated from the junior middle school are regarded to be the highest; 5) child-care workers who have more than 2000 RMB monthly salary are regarded to be on the top in professional identity while whose salary less than 1000 RMB monthly are in the lowest level; 3.what have been found out about subjective questions are as follows:1) the roles of child-care workers are defined by themselves as:cleaner of kindergarten, foster child, foster and teach child; 2) child-care workers in ShangHai consider the value of work registering as:make a living, make child grow happily and healthily, self-actualized and social approval; 3) the satisfaction of child-care workers' in ShangHai as follows:regular vacation, interpersonal relation, work condition; 4) child-care workers in ShangHai dissatisfied with these:great amount of work, low income, low social class.According to the findings and analysis, the following suggestions on how to enhance the professional identity of child-care workers are:1) to overcome child-care workers'burnout in the profession; 2) to enhance qualities of child-care workers; 3) to provided more human care for child-care workers; 4) to offer more practice for child-care workers attend kindergartens'active.
