| As one of the important modern P.E. teaching modes, small-group teaching is highly valued and widely used in colleges and universities in recent years. It plays a distinctive role in training the students' subjectivity, creativity, independence and social adaptability. Aerobics is a kind of new sports integrating gymnastics, dancing and music for body building, thus it is quite popular among college/university students. Applying the small-group teaching in the general aerobics course will change the traditional education mode of aerobics. It emphasizes on the principal position of the students, inspires their creativity and team-work spirit and fosters their adaptability to the society so as to improve their psychological health as well as the teaching effects.Based on the theories and practices of small-group education both at home and abroad as well as the practices and experience in aerobics teaching, this article studies the current education situation and carries out an experiment in aerobics teaching. Employing the knowledge in fields like sociology,education, psychology and physical education, it has an overall and systematic presentation of the concepts, features, model-building and difficulties in practice of small-group education. In the teaching experiment, the subjects were two experimental classes and two reference classes, where small-group teaching and traditional teaching were applied separately. Then monograms and questionnaire surveys were used to estimate the teaching effects before the statistics was processed and analyzed.The research shows that small-group teaching is doable in the general aerobics course of colleges and universities and can play a distinctive part in it. The conclusion is that small-group teaching in the general aerobics course of colleges and universities can enhance students'group eohesiveness and collaboration, improve their interpersonal relationship, communication skills and psychological health, stress their principal position in learning, arouse their learning interests and strengthen their social adaptability while mastering the aerobic skills. To bring small-group teaching into full play, this article provides some advice, for example, using small-group teaching in a flexible way, improving teachers'comprehensive quality and students' learning ability, etc. |
