The Comparative Study Of The Etiquette Education For The Chinese And Korean College Students

China is considered "the nation of etiquette" since from time immemorial the Chinese have placed a premium on the etiquette and in the ancient time etiquette was considered as the foundation underlying all efforts to manage a nation. And China is also named Cathysia because of its wide etiquette and beautiful costume.'Courtesy'refers to the propriety which is formed of the moral idea and customs and habits in the certain society, and it is a moral norm:respect.'rite'is the concrete form in which people show their respect exactly.'Etiquette'refers to the necessary courtesy rite in the social association, which is the sum total of the activating principle and norm that accords with the social demand and is identified with and obeyed in the social association. Etiquette aims to creating the harmonious rlationship.During the thousands of years of the Chinese civilization, our forefathers built a series of etiquette, which has been gradually completed and in the end the etiquette culture with the eastern color has formed. It is the Chinese nation's traditional virtue to attach importance on the proficiency in etiquette. With our moving in the direction of the modern society, the demand on the ideological and ethical progress is getting higher and higher. In the course of the popularization of our senior education the important task is to improve continuously the overall qualities of the college students, to popularize their etiquette education so as to enhance them to have their eyes on the trifles and develop a good etiquette habit.At present, in China the etiquette edcation of the college students is attached great importance to. Owing to the change in the domestic and overseas situation, the shock of the market economy, the influence of the family environment, the difference of the individual quality refinement and the inadequacy of the college etiquette education, there is a lot of uncourteous,unobservant and uncivilized behavior, and lots of phenomena which is not in harmony with the college students' etiquette qualities and the ideological and ethical construction. The etiquette education of the college students is still in the exploring and trying stage, and the etiquette education system, that is, the primary school—middle school--college system, has not formed yet. On the contrary, the system has formed in Korea, which advocates the college students to value the national interest and properly handles the relationship among the nation,the individual and the society. The Korean successes in the etiquette education of the family,the society and the college are worth learning by China.This thesis first summerises the concept, kind, feature and function of the etiquette. Secondly, it analyses the contents and the implementing ways of the Chinese and Korean etiquette education of the college students. Finally, by comparing and analysing the same and differences, this thesis attempts to look into the signal value of the successes of the etiquette edcation of the Korean college students, that is, the important actual theoretical and practical implicatons to improve further the etiquette edcation of the Chinese college students and promote the socialist ideological and ethical progress in China.
