Under the background of the widespread of peasant education, this study is trying to understand the currently situation and the affection of the peasant education from the perspective of gender, of which the main methods are documentary research, questionnaires and structured interviews. The main target is to reveal the function of peasant education in advancing the progress of sustainable development, as well as to deplore the different need of peasant education and to provide meaningful suggestion to the further going of peasant education and rural development.The results are as followed. First, there are several characteristics of current peasant education. People who involved in the education are higher educated than people who are not involved. The resources of peasant education are richer in Secondary Industry and Third Industry than First one. People almost take part in short time peasant education which is less than 3 days, especially women. As main holders of peasant education, school, government and enterprise have different attitude in recruiting members.Secondary, most peasant show their will to attend peasant education, but the needs are different from male to female. They are subtle or instinct differences on the need of time, way, fee and content of peasant education. Fewer women would like to attend education, and many of them would choose free education and short time trainings. Women would like to attend some educations that are easy to understand as well as to follow. Not only that, they would rather involve in the trainings that are near their houses.Thirdly, the study shows current peasant education has positive influence on the sustainable development of rural area, especially by affecting women, who are important ones in promoting the sustainable progress. In economic development, peasant education has good affection on the optimization of agriculture industry. Many families are improving the production structure of agriculture, especially families in which women had been involved in the peasant education. Peasant education also has affected the development of democracy and the society, such as the democratic elections and the division of labor in family.From the results of the study, women have fewer opportunities and resources in attending in peasant education, but the affections through them on the development on families and on the communities are significant.
