Research On Current Situation And Countermeasure Of Cheerleading's Development In College Campus

Unique charming enables cheerleading become an emerging fashion sport deeply favored by lots of students in universities and colleges in our country. At present, cheerleading competitions have been carried out in full swing in our country except universities. Thus, its function can not be exerted in the universities. In this paper, taking the universities in Guang Xi for examples, the author uses the methods such as documentary method, logical analysis methods, interviewing experts, questionnaire method, and mathematical statistics to carry out the research on current situation of cheerleading's development in college campus, to find out the existing problems, and proposes appropriate countermeasure and suggestions in order to offer theoretical reference for functional departments and promote the development of cheerleading in college campus.Research results: (一) findings on the part of students:1.The overwhelming majority of college students have heard of cheerleading mainly by means of watching TV media and campus cheerleading activities. 2. College students have certain understanding of cheerleading's features, functions and its influence in campus cultures; however, a fairly number of them does not differentiate cheerleading from aerobics. 3. There is a fairly number of students watching cheerleading but few of students participate in cheerleading activities. 4.College students deeply love cheerleading, and they strongly hope that cheerleading will be introduced into college PE class. As to the form of class teaching, they hope it will combine in-class teaching and extracurricular (ex-class) sporting activities and think that cheerleading clubs should be established. (二) findings on the part of universities:1. Teachers are in great favor of the promotion of cheerleading and its relative ex-class activities, and think that it is beneficial of bringing cheerleading into campus both for college students and campus culture.2.The function of cheerleading has not been fully exerted among all kinds of campus activities. Currently , most colleges have not promoted campus cheerleading activities. 3. Many colleges do not take full advantage of cheerleading competitions to carry out cultural communications among campus. 4. There is no PE class involved with cheerleading teaching contents in most colleges, nor cheerleading clubs or associations.5. Most colleges do not pay energy to promote cheerleading publicly.According to the current situations and existing problems of cheerleading in college campus, the author offers countermeasures and suggestions, details as follow: 1. Introduce cheerleading into college PE classes; (1) Open cheerleading curriculum; (2) Strengthen the building of teacher resources; (3) Make the best use of PE material resources in colleges, and improve related facilities of cheerleading;(4) Reinforce the theoretical researches on cheerleading. 2. Carry out colorful extracurricular activities of cheerleading; 3. Establish cheerleading extracurricular exercise clubs; 4. Do well in the public promotion of cheerleading; 5. Build up high-level cheerleading teams.
