Reasearch On The Current Condition And Tendency Of Chinese College Sports

College sports, an important part of school physical education, shoulder great responsibility for shaping healthy body and developing well-rounded people, having a large number of important scientific researches with theoretical and practical significance. With the methods of literature review, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and so on, the thesis statistically analyzes the academic publications and projects on China college sports from 2002 to 2009. Conclusions and suggestions are as follows:On the whole, the amount of research publications issued on Chinese college sports keeps stable, presenting a modest increasing trend. With titles of the authors mainly as associate professors and lecturers, those research publications have a lower level of cooperation. Research primarily concentrates on contents and methods of college sports, its curriculum construction and reform, students' physique and health, training and competition of P.E, etc. Methods like literature review, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and expert interviews are frequently used , and most publications use 2-4 research methods. References of these publications averagely quote 7 cited ones or so, while foreign literatures are utilized in a low rate. Studies are mainly focused on basic theory research and application one. Training and competition in P.E, development strategies, students' physique and health are major projects on college sports in our Ministry of education and general administration of sport. National and provincial projects occupy a dominant position in the core periodicals. The average time delay of the studies lasts for about seven months.The following are primary problems existing in the research on our college sports: a. the research team with young and inexperienced researchers; b. excessive studies on the so-called current condition of college sports. c. insufficient combination of theory with practice, less advanced methodologies; d. serious phenomena of similar scientific research; e. lack of developmental research. Our college sports research is characteristics of keeping pace with the times, wide research fields and object, various research methods. At present and for a considerable long time in the future, college sports research tends to value more on its scientific feature; multidisciplinary and multi-methodologies are widely used; material condition of college sports research has continuously improved; quantitative and experimental studies are more and more popular; college sports research will pay more attention to practical problems.
