In 2004, the standard of ideology and politics in general senior middle school(experiment) made by ministry of education of our country clearly put forward that teachers should pay close attention to the students emotion, attitude and behavior, initiate opening and interactive teaching method and learning in a cooperative and exploratory way to make students promote their abilities in active study and development in the course of teaching full of democracy. This saying promotes the exploratory study to a high level of transforming learning method and teaching thought and urges that we should make a further research into exploratory study. The ideas in this article are that the aim of implementing exploratory study in thinking and political teaching lies in changing teachers′teaching method, changing the students′learning pattern in which the students only depend on accepting the scientific knowledge imparted by the teachers, and this kind of study offers on operating platform for practice to develop the students′abilities in creation, bringing forth new ideas, autonomous study cooperative study and solving problems.The whole passage is divided into five parts. The first part is the summary of the exploratory study, giving an outline of the background of the exploratory study, theory basis, the connotation and characteristic of exploratory study of thinking and political course. The second part is about the necessity of carrying out the exploratory study in the new course of thinking and politics. It is the inevitable need in reforming the new course of thinking and politics; it is the effective method of improving the teaching efficiency in thinking and politics, and it is also the objective requirement in developing students of talent of creation and bring forward new ideas. The third part is about the existing state of carrying out exploratory study in the new course of thinking and politics, expounding the problems and their causes in carrying out the exploratory study of thinking and political course. The fourth part is about the effective strategy of the exploratory study in the teaching of thinking and political course. This is the key point, mainly including the principles, steps in the teaching of thinking and political course in exploratory study. The fifth part is about bringing up practice and review in carrying out the exploratory study in the thinking and political course.According to the practice and exploration into the reform of the new course in the past two years and through making a research on this topic, the author will refer to some knowledge ,understanding and review about the exploratory study in the new course of thinking and politics, hoping to blend exploratory study with the teaching of thinking and political course, so as to encourage students to partake in teaching in an atmosphere of liveliness and initiative and daring the course of exploring scientific knowledge on their own initiative to enhance the master of scientific methods, to advance the students'quality of thinking. Only in this way are the students willing to study politics and enjoy politics.
