The fundamental goal of education is to boost the human’s development, whereas writingteaching in literature plays an important and unique part in the process. Writing in literaturecarries the ideals of the students------the anchorage of gamut of human feelings, the window tothe emotional release and the reflection of the Chinese language accomplishment as well. Withthe advance of the new curriculum reform, the new high school curriculum standards hassignificantly eased restrictions on students’ writing and the students are greatly encouraged towrite. In addition, the ability of thinking, the value orientation and aesthetic taste and spiritualpursuit are further focused on. Meanwhile, to express the true feelings and to write from theactual life is more and more emphasized. However, nowadays literature writing in high schoolbecomes inefficient, teachers are reluctant to instruct writing and students are fed up with it too.Therefore how to cope with the troubling problems is an urgent issue.Zhong Rong’s theory about poetic taste epitomizes all the Chinese classical literarytheories about taste and has instructional significance for the writing of the five-characterpoems at that time and the subsequent development of the poetry. Many researches have beendone on Zhong Rong’s theory about poetic taste, some focusing on the formation of this theory,some focusing on the characteristics or the structures of this theory, some focusing on itsaesthetical standard and some focusing on the relationship between this theory and artisticcreation. Generally speaking, Zhong Rong’s theory about poetic taste has been studied mostlyas a kind of ancient literary criticism and works of literary theories. Research based on thecombination of this theory and the teaching in senior school is rare. And so far, there is no suchresearch that studies the significance of Zhong Rong’s theory about poetic taste from the pointof writing teaching in senior school.According to the literature writing teaching practice in high school, I probe into ZhongRong’s theory about poetic taste and studies its connotation and modern significance of itsthoughts on writing on the basis of the previous researches, in order to find out the effective strategies and solutions to teach writing in senior school and also hope to offer references to thecurrent reform of the writing teaching in senior school.The main body is composed of four chapters.The first chapter analyzes the problems in current literature writing teaching in seniorschool from the perspective of the students’ writing and the teachers’ teaching.The second chapter mainly illustrates ZhongRong’s theory about poetic taste and itsinstructional significance for the research on literature writing teaching in senior school, andenlightens the Chinese teachers in senior school on writing teaching.The third chapter expounds the principles of literature writing teaching in senior schoolbased on the theory about poetic taste.The fourth chapter illuminates the strategies to teach literature writing from the view of thetheory about poetic taste, and finds out appropriate remedies for the problems in writingteaching in senior school.
