Aerobics originated from the traditional aerobic exercises. Based on aerobic exercises, by means of body exercising and with the musical accompaniment, aerobics is a newly rising sport which blended music, gymnastics and dancing. Featured by health, strength and beauty, it aimed at improving body conditions, building up one's figure and taking pleasure.Although the history of aerobics is not long in China, this kind of sport has been well-liked by the broad masses. For it not only highlights the strength and health in the movements, but also emphasizes the feature of beauty. The harmonizing of body art and sport aesthetic makes aerobics a sport with great visual enjoyment. Taking aerobics gymnastics constantly helps people build up health and keep fit, improve one's figure and correct deformities, adjust mental conditions and cultivate one's temperament, enhance the functions of nervous system, as well as developing a strong mind.Aerobics is quite popular in America, a nation influenced the development of aerobics all over the world to a large extent. There are thousands of large aerobic exercise club and fitness center in America. They provide abundance places for people's aerobic exercising. For Americans, aerobic exercising can be in different forms. No matter in outdoor stores, or vegetarian restaurants, or grocery stores, even beside the desk of plastic surgeons, aerobic exercising exists.In China, as the social progress and higher living standard was made, people start to pay more and more attention to the concept of health. They spare no high price on health and invest more and more on it. In the past, body-building means only simple activities like running and some body movements. And people have to do these simple and boring exercises in consideration of their health. However, aerobics broke with tradition and became a comprehensive sport united dancing, music and gymnastics, which let people take joyful exercises with the musical accompaniment.It is not so early by the time when aerobics was introduced into China. After the period of exploring and regularizing, this sport began to have its own management system. Now aerobics has spread off in China. Aerobic exercise gyms of different scales spring up like mushrooms in market. Universities and colleges also have their own aerobic exercise clubs. However their development still cannot be mentioned in the same breath with the development of aerobics abroad.Through surveys and researches into aerobic exercise clubs of independent institutions in Changchun, this paper paid attention to the current situation of those clubs, general state of the teaching staff, content of the courses, teaching environment and materials, and motivation of the students in the clubs. The substantial of this paper is finding out the key factors that influence the development of aerobic exercise clubs of independent institutions in Changchun by researching and analyzing, and chase down the countermeasures based on these researches. Conclusion:1. The development of aerobic exercise clubs of independent institutions in Changchun is favorable. Students are willing to join the clubs and attend classes actively. But the teaching content is comparatively simple. Teachers emphasize more on practicing in their teaching. Most of the clubs are lack of teaching materials and the teaching evaluation turns out to be unilateral.2. Students only take aerobic exercises during the class time and few of them choose to exercise spontaneously after class.3. Teachers in club are either elder for this job, or too young and under graduated. Their educational background is comparatively low. Most of them are from secondary school, or dance school, or institutes of physical education, under graduated. They have no experience of the training by national coaches.4. There are more men than women in the clubs. 87% of the members are female and only 13% are male, which leads to a serious imbalance.5. The teaching environment of the clubs is poor. Most of it is simply an open ground and there are no good facilities.
