Geographic process knowledge is an important aspect of the time dimension of geography, has the equally importance in the middle school geography teaching with the geo-spatial distribution of teaching.However, in the middle school geography teaching, teachers take the spatial distribution teaching but contempt geography process teaching, the phenomenon is widespread, in a certain extent has lost the student ability development value which the geographic process knowledge course content contains.In view of this present situation, this article uses the literature law and the case analytic method, takes the new curriculum reform as the instruction,combs the geography process knowledge of the PEP in the geography, moreover explores its value in the teaching and the students capacity-building,then, proposes appropriate teaching strategies guided by the modern education theory.This paper is divided into four parts:Part I: Literature Review, Using literature method, explaines the background, the research status quo,the research content and the implications of this matter.Part II: This part combs the geography process knowledge of the PEP in the geography, classifies the geographic process knowledge according to the classifica- tion system of geographic process knowledge. Based on building a secondary school geography process knowledge structure system, analyzes the presentation of various types of process knowledge in the textbooks, and summarizes out the characteristics of its composition, in order to lay the foundation for later in the analysis.Part III: This part unioning case discusses the teaching values of the various types of the geography process knowledge. The author thinks that geographic process knowledge as the carrier has raised the students the following geography discipline ability: Developing reading ablity to the geographic process diagram and chart; Developing students′simple predictive power of geographic process; Developing students′ability to describe and include the geography law; Developing students′analytical reasoning ability to geography causality.Part IV: In order to better display process knowledge in teaching and students′ability rising aspect function, This article takes the modern education and teaching philosophy as a guide to summairize the following four kind of teaching strategies conforming to the student cognition rule: Establishing question situation reappearance geography process; Guiding to analyse the causes of geographical by layer upon layer supposes asking; Analyzing and sorting the various geographic process by intuitively presenting the process; Forecasting the development trend of geographical process by using assumptions .
