Pondering Over The Political Participation Of Contemporary College Students

Political participation is a major way of self-education for the college students, and it is also a significant approach of political socialization by them. Taking political practice by political participation and other ways, the college students may acquire the experience of political participation and ability of distinguishing right from wrong, and can lay a solid foundation for future political life. The college students'participation in politics is of far reaching importance both for their own development and the construction of democracy and politics of the state. Cultivating a correct participation idea of college students, guiding a rational political participation of them, constructing an impartial political participation system, and forming a well-organized political participation order, are a key task of ideological and political workers.Under the guidance of Marxist Theory, and in the perspective of ideological and political education for college students, this article takes a further exploration on the political participation of contemporary college students and its countermeasures by comprehensively utilizing the relevant theories of politics, sociology, political sociology and ideological and political education.The article consists of four sections:Section 1:Introduction. This section summarizes the concept of political participation of college students and significance of topic selection of this article, distinguishes the concept of political participation of college students, explains the connotation of political participation of college students, expounds the significance of political participation of college students.Section 2:This section analyzes the current state of political participation of college students and especially the existing problems. This article put forwards: accompanied by the formation of market economy system and reform of political system, the new characteristics appeared in the political participation of college students, and the political participation of college students has a positive aspect such as relatively high political responsibility sense, higher political participation idea and higher political distinguishing ability. However, there are also some defects such as ambiguous political recognition, indifferent political participation, and difference between the political participation idea and participation behaviors.Section 3:This section explores the factors effecting political participation of college students. This article holds that there are many factors shall effect the political participation of college students, and analyzes these factors from three aspects of themselves, colleges, and the society.Section 4:This section put forwards the following countermeasures on intensifying and improving political participation of colleges students in terms of the main problems existed in political participation of college students and its profound causes:the society shall create a good environment for the political participation of college students; the college shall intensify the education and guidance for the political participation of college students; the college students shall strengthen their own construction of political participation.
