When we all furtherpromote education for all-round development, a new round of reforms of the cirriculum for school education is required. The requirements are as follows: firstly, we need to reform the old concept to make educators to hold the spirit of the educational philosophy of quality education to fit in with the new cirriculum. Secondly, we need to promote the changes of teaching and learning methods. But, as a matter of fact, during the processes of teaching, we still follow the traditional patterns of teaching. Such as:"cramming education","mechanical education", which lead to a result that teachers work hard but their lessons are boring. Through teaching reflection for years, the author suggest that the inquiry-based teaching patterns should be brought in the reforms of the cirriculum because the inquiry-based teaching patterns can solve the problems of actual teaching and improve the efficiency of teaching.In this paper, the author used a variety of methods, such as: questionnaire, interview survey, comprehensive literature research method, action research, comparative study, the effects of study, etc. First of all, the author introduced correlation theories of the inquiry-based teaching patterns. Also, the author analysed the current inquiry-based teaching problems. And then the author combined geography teaching characteristics in the seventh grade with teaching issues, analyzing the feasibility whether the inquiry-based teaching patterns can be brought in Classroom Instruction.. Finally, the author designed the teaching strategies which were applied to the inquiry-based teaching patterns.Through the analysis of experimental results, we can draw the conclusion: the inquiry-based teaching patterns have the following advantages.①It is very easy for the the inquiry-based teaching to mobilize the students'enthusiasm and initiative of learning geography;②Use of the inquiry-based teaching can improve the students'interest in learning geography;③Use of the inquiry-based teaching can change the face of teaching, making a fundamental change. That is, teachers and students can work in a pleasant atmosphere of teaching and learning;④Use of the inquiry-based teaching can develop students'habits of understanding maps and improve students'abilities of understanding maps;⑤Use of the inquiry-based teaching can improve students'remarks of geography in the seventh grade. What's more,⑥the author also felt that her teaching ability had been improved. Therefore, it has been proved that proper use of inquiry-based teaching is worhty of promotion use as well as a practical value.
