On The Science And Engineening University Students Human Qualities And Scientific Quality Of Fusion

The Plan suggested that the fundamental role of education is to develop the nation's accomplishments from all aspects, including its ethic, intelligence and strength and to bring up successors of socialism. This reflects the needs of high caliber talents in the society and it is the foothold of implementing a caliber oriented higher education. It is one of the higher education's urgent roles to improve the university student's cultural caliber education. The focus is on the humanistic caliber and to improve the humanistic caliber, it is necessary to improve the humanistic education. Lack of humanistic caliber will not only affect university student's own development, but also the future of the nation. Therefore, it is very important for a polytechnic university to precisely understand the current position of its student's humanistic caliber.Due to some historical reasons, in a long period after the foundation of the Republic, our development was focused on industries. To achieve this goal, a large number of professionals were needed to fulfil the demand by the development of socialism. Because of this imperative demand, polytechnic education was much preferred. Allocation of education resources was imbalanced and the ideas of education were biased. For example, preference was given to professional education over ordinary education, and to engineering over humanism. This biased social value broke the normal relationship between culture and science and caused a lag in humanistic higher education and a lack of humanistic caliber in polytechnic students.In this article, a deep analysis of the merger between humanistic and scientific spirits of polytechnic students was performed based on their current humanistic caliber. This article discussed the historical and modern reasons of the lack of humanistic caliber and made several suggestions on how to improve the humanistic education in a polytechnic university. It is expected to have practical and theoretical meanings for setting and organising humanistic education in polytechnic university, improving its student's humanistic caliber and advance their overall developments.
