The competition between countries in the world today is in the final analysis for the talent competition. The change of social culture requires new humanistic quality. Contemporary science and engineering postgraduates in China are the main force of the science and technology development in the new century, whose quality status plays an important role in the development of science and technology of our country in the future. The current science and engineering postgraduate education has strengthened the humanistic quality education but still has the deviation of the heavy specialized quality, the light humanistic quality, which affected the improvement of science and engineering postgraduate's comprehensive quality. Strengthening the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic education to improve their overall quality has become the urgent task of current science and engineering postgraduate's education. This article has made some investigation and studied the present situation of current education to the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic quality. Finding the question of the current science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic quality through the investigation and studying the reason which produced to the question, basing on which has proposed countermeasures to solve the question. We should make every effort to improve and strengthen the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic education in order to improve their overall quality.The full text is composed of five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction of this paper, which has analyzed and compared the domestic and foreign research status, then has proposed the research train of thought, the research methods and the possible innovation spots of this article; The second chapter is the outline of humanistic quality education. After defining the related conceptions of humanistic education, proposed that the contemporary science and engineering postgraduate should have the humanistic quality, namely the comprehensive humanistic knowledge, the perfect personality and the healthy psychological quality, the intense social responsibilities and the historical sense of mission and enterprising and positive innovation spirit; The third chapter has elaborated the necessity of the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic education from four aspects of perfect personality, innovation ability, international talents, harmonious development and so on; The fourth chapter for the full text is the empirical study part with emphasis. Carrying on the investigation and studying the current science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic quality condition by the form of questionnaire have concluded question of the current science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic quality, further analyzed the reason of the question and has analyzed the reason which the question produced thoroughly; The fifth chapter is the part of countermeasure research, which raised the countermeasure to strengthen the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic education in view of existence's question of the current science and engineering postgraduate humanistic quality and the reason produced it, hoping to improve the science and engineering postgraduate's humanistic quality in the practical aspect.
