| Humanity qualities play an essential part in the culture inheritance and personality development. For math teachers in junior middle schools, apart from the solid specialized knowledge in math, they should have enough humanistic knowledge which will internalize into humanistic spirit and behavior. Humanity is an important integral part of teachers'comprehensive qualities, which influences their teaching behavior and teaching quality. According to the new curriculum reformation, math teachers should associate mathematic with humanistic knowledge together, and carry out humanistic infiltration in their teaching process. However, the fact is that humanity is not properly fulfilled in the course of teaching, which is related to the teachers'comprehensive qualities, especially their humanity qualities.Based on the questionnaires, interviews and lecture-attending, the author makes a survey on the humanity qualities of math teachers in junior middle schools in Zhangjiakou, ranging from the teachers'accumulations of the humanistic knowledge to their educational backgrounds and teaching behaviors. Altogether the author studies the cases of the 112 math teachers in 5 junior middle schools in Zhangjiakou, as well as the students'opinions on math and their math teachers. After the survey, the author makes the statistical analysis of the data by using the software of SPSS and Excel. Then the author analyses the reasons which cause the differences in humanity qualities, and proposes the countermeasures. It aims at enriching the professional development and improving the humanity quality of the math teachers in junior middle school.By analyzing statistical analysis of the survey data, the author gets the following results:1. The overall level of the humanity qualities of the math teachers in junior middle school in Zhangjiakou is not so satisfactory,2. Comparing the different sexes, teaching experiences and original educational level of the math teachers, there are significant differences in the humanity qualities as follows:1) The male math teachers rank much higher than their female colleagues in humanity qualities on the whole. 2) The math teachers with technical secondary school as the original educational level rank highest in the humanity qualities, whereas the teachers with bachelor degree or above rank lowest.3) The math teachers with teaching experiences less than 20 years perform much better than the teachers with teaching experiences more than 20 years in humanity qualities.4)The math teachers with junior professional titles rank higher than the teachers with senior professional titles on the whole.By conducting the interviews and lecture-attending, the author comes to the conclusion that the cultivation of humanity qualities not only benefits the teachers on their self-perfection and teaching style, but also influences the teachers on their professional development. According to the above results, the author sums up the following reasons that contribute to the unsatisfactory humanity qualities: the insufficient qualities of the math teachers themselves in junior middle schools; the current incomplete cultivating systems for the teachers. The author suggests that the fundamental qualification as a math teacher in junior middle school should be elevated and the teaching practice should be strengthened. And the author puts forward the basic strategies on how to improve the math teachers'performances in humanity:1. Build the concept of life-long study; consolidate the accumulation of humanistic knowledge.2. Mould the perfect character, cultivate the humanistic spirit.3. Complete and perfect the cultivating and evaluating systems for the teachers. |
