Kangding County is the capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Through a Kangding County survey of primary school teachers it was shown that the overall well-being of primary school teachers in Kangding County was low. Through the investigation of 175 primary school teachers, it was shown that only 61.29 percent of teachers feel happy in their lives, and two thirds of the primary school teachers were not satisfied with their working and living conditions. There was lack of sufficient well-being. The well-being of teachers in rural and nomad areas was higher than that of the teachers in urban settings. The well-being of Tibetan teachers was higher than that of the Chinese teachers. The well-being of female teachers was higher than that of male teachers. The well-being of teachers with only three years teaching experience was higher than that of well experienced teachers. Factors which influence teachers'well-being include happiness, salary, living environment and language environment. Work intensity, work hours, low incomes, poor working environment and poor living environment reduce happiness. To enhance the happiness of primary school teachers, first all levels of government need to highlight increased investment in education, improvement of teacher salaries, improving working environments of teachers and improving the teachers'quality of living. In the long term, needs include promoting reform in teacher education, enhancing the teachers'sense of morality, improving the teachers'sense of mission and sense of responsibility, and strengthening pre-school education in minority areas.
