From the industrial age to the technological age to the information age, the rapid development of science and technology makes human beings in the enjoyment of abundant material wealth, but also the people thrown into a spiritual void. Education is infected with the same utilitarian illness. Contemporary education treats people as a tool to train their usefulness. The thinking to the value of a man is replaced by the thinking of the useful value of a man. Modern education is ruled by industrial and commercial spirit. To culture people really possessing human spirit, education have to seek its own significance in the first place. Against such a backdrop, Chinese education has been on the way of instrumentalization since its beginning. New curriculum reform brought the light to the development of Chinese education. The trait in human and spirit of Chinese is gradually valued. To view at the situation of Chinese education reform in recent years, however, it's still far away from the goal of new curriculum reform. The teaching for test still rules Chinese education. New curriculum reform cries for population and deepening. On the other hand, there are lots of Chinese educators studying and practicing Chinese aesthetic education, but beauty of Chinese is regarded as the decoration of Chinese education, or a tool to make teaching for test more effective. Because of above-mentioned facts, the study about the aesthetic value of Chinese education is necessary and urgent.The aesthetic value of education is proposed on the theoretical basis of educational philosophy, life aesthetic and value philosophy. which doesn't target at decorating education with beauty but awakening ultimate concern to man in education. We resist utilitarian education and instrumentalization education in such way. Aesthetic value, in itself, is an original exsistence form of the meaning and the exsistence value of life. In aesthetic activities ,the most beautiful, perfect and sacred things of human beings are showed, and we surpass our limited life to reach the limitlessness. Appreciation of the beauty , in reality, which awakens human self-awareness to be human beings,is the most telling witness of human to be human beings. In this sense, we say that appreciation of the beauty is a kind of ultimate concern and the aesthetic value of education is the ultimate pursuit of educational value. Education which is in a jam of utilitarianism is in need of such aesthetical spirit to cure it. The true, the good and the beautiful are the best of human spirit, and to seek after the truth, the goodness and the beauty is the inherent value of education. The three are dialectical and unified, but the aesthetical value is the sublimation of other both and the noumenon of the value of education. The true, the good and the beautiful are certainly syncretic in the highest heaven. Aesthetic value has three hypostatic attributes: emotionality, betweeness centrality and transcendentality.Chinese education which soul is literature and language-based determines that it has to be the witness of human to be human beings, of human spiritual transcendency and of ideal human nature. It's the most ultimate exsistence reason of Chinese education. Verbality, which points to the realization of the meaning and value of human exsistence ultimately, is the essential attribute of Chinese and determines the ultimate pursuit of Chinese education which should be to discern the meaning of human to be human beings in the in the world of language and to build spiritual home for human beings. Literature is not total but the soul of Chinese education. The really great literary works of human beings are certainly the witness of love or losing-love in human nature. Chinese education must be the education to give dignity to human nature and literature. The ancient Chinese education was deeply influenced by the poetic temperament of Chinese language and the poetic thinking of Chinese culture and the mutual integration of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in Chinese traditional culture. First, they decided the holistic learning of reciting, experiencing, associating and imitating and the teaching methods of enlightening and inducing for traditional Chinese education; Second, they made our Chinese education in a shortage of spiritual dimension of ultimate concern, of a sense of the pursuit of other worlds. Therefore, to absorb the essence of ancient Chinese education and to transcend its limitations are the challenge modern Chinese education has to face.When it realizes its aesthetic value, Chinese education must be like this: In the world of language, it leads students to look up at the sacred heaven and to live on the ground poetically. Poetic Chinese is the most apposite name to the pursuit of Chinese education. To build Poetic Chinese, we have to abide by the following principles: First, the dimension of love. This is the choice standard of Chinese education resources and the demand to the mental realm of Chinese teachers. Second , intermediation. The extent to which Poetic Chinese can be realized depending on the extent of intermediation of Chinese education.
