Education Magazine(published by The Commercial Press)which is started in February 1909 and ended in December 1948 had experienced the longest time of all education journals in our country of modern times. It faithfully recorded and witnessed the difficult and tortuous course of modern education development in China, meanwhile, as a professional journal, it has exerted its unique function and impact on the modernization of Chinese education. Education Magazine which is very rich in content do many researches about school curriculum reform, and until now it has profound implications.Through reviewing the researches on school curriculum reform in 1920s-30s in Education Magazine, I get some experience and enlightenment from it, which I hope can be in favor of the curriculum reform in modern times.Among the five times of course reformation in high school during the republic period, Education Magazine has discussed the curriculum reform in 1922 in detail under the new school system (also called New Curriculum Reform) and the problem of formal curriculum standard revision in 1932. Towards these two curriculum standards, established courses in middle school,curriculum schedule and so on,experts studied in a deep-going way at that time.These studies put emphasis on reducing students' burden, pay more attention to the differences of students' personalities and the playing of initiative.The contents of the reformation should be interwoven with the social life. Besides, the reformation should focus on the students'individual differences, the application of the subjects in the researches of course reformation, etc. Reviewing the researches on those two times of course reformation in Education Magazine, we can get some meaningful enlightenment on the new round of course reformation now. While carrying out the researches on the course reformation, it is important and necessary to arouse the curriculum experts'positivity, broadly take their suggestions, distribute the times of each subject reasonably, combine the theoretical researches on curriculum with the experiments, and last but not the least do well in the training program of the teachers in high schools.The marxist theory as the guide, this essay mainly adopts the document analysis method. Based on the study of the school curriculum reform in 1920s-30s in the Education Magazine, it discusses the contents of the researches on the school curriculum reform and their features, as well as the enlightment on today's reality in 3 parts through collecting and analysing the relevant research data.
