Research On Model Selection Of Student Affairs Management Of Colleges In China

With the increasing enrollment of colleges and the changing need of college students, the quality and quantity of student affairs management becomes a more and more challenging task. College student affairs management must not remain in the education and management level, but should offer full-service for students'development. In recent years, more and more colleges start to pay high attention to the research on models of student affairs management; based on their own conditions, they have taken a lot of exploratory practice. Therefore, research on student affairs management has a great theoretical and practical significance.This article is divided into four parts. In the first part the background knowledge and significance of the study, including related concepts on student affairs management and its models, is introduced; in the contemporary models of student affairs management in Europe, the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan are outlined; Moreover, the research method and innovation of our study are argued.The second part is mainly on student affairs management in China Mainland. The evolving process, the disadvantages and their reasons of student affairs management in China is detailed analyzed.The third part is the key element in this paper. First of all, the basic principles on college student affairs management, that is, scientific principle, efficient principle, practical principle, classifying principle and sustainable development principle, are argued; next, the conditions of selecting student affairs management models are studied, including establishing the importance of student affairs management, establishing the management idea of students development, broadening the content of student affairs management, innovating management pattern and strengthen management specialization. Finally, the novel idea of specializing management models by the nature and content of student affairs management is introduced. It includes three concrete patterns:the concentrated management pattern based on the universality of management contents, the assistant management pattern on the crossing over of contents and the distributed management pattern on the specialization of management content.The final part concludes my study. First, research on the student affairs management in Chinese colleges is just in its initial stage and no mature experience is accumulated. Second, research on student affairs management has a great theoretical and practical significance. Third, selecting models in accordance with the content of student affairs management has a scientific basis. Last, creating a scientific, effective and practical College Student Affairs management model has a great importance for high school's further development.
