Cultural Management Perspective Of Student Affairs Administration In Colleges And Universities

Form the experiential management to the scientific management, and arriving at the cultural management, which is thought the modern trend in the development of management theory. Cultural management is a modern mode which influence human’s thinking and behavior through culture, the cultivation of values and spirit of organizations, to promote people’s self-realization and development. Cultural management is a management mode which mainly centered on human beings and help people develop their values. Cultural management perspective of student affairs management in colleges and universities should also be a mode that beyond standard, pay attention to the cultural values and the pursuit. At present, most of our colleges’student affairs administration is still a rigorous system of management mode, which has neglected the students’ individuality development and emotional needs. This will not be conductive to the college and university students’growth and development. So it will have very important practical significance to have a research on student affairs management from the cultural management perspective.The research applies enterprises’ theory of cultural management to student affairs management in colleges and universities, from the present situation of student affairs management, based on the analysis of relevant theories, and attempts to construct a cultural management model for colleges’ student affairs management from the two aspects of theory and path.There are six parts in this paper:the first chapter introduces the background, and related literature review, the purpose of the study, the significance, ideas, methods and innovation and shortcomings; the second chapter discusses university, university culture and its relationship with the student affairs management; the third chapter gives a brief review to the evolution and development of student affairs management in colleges and universities, summarizes the main features of the process and analysis the problems of the traditional student affairs; the forth chapter describes the connotation, characteristics, theoretical basis, principles of student affairs management in the cultural management perspective; the fifth chapter gives the connotation, significance, the concept and the application of constructing cultural management pattern of student affairs management; the sixth chapter put forward the paths that construct the student affairs cultural management mode, including the transition of the mechanism of student affairs management and strategy analysis. And the conclusion part summarizes the full text, and explores the existing problems in this study and the next research direction.
