On The Concept "People Oriented" In The Ideological And Politi Cal Education In Colleges

The proposal of the concept"people oriented"is a reflection and correction of the contemporary social reality as well as the basic principles to guide our realistic work. It is not only inheriting and developing the basic theory of Marxism, developing and discarding the idea of"people"in traditional Chinese culture, but also surpassing the traditional idea of humanism.The ideological and political education in colleges undertakes the arduous task and historic mission to develop as many qualified builders and successors as possible in their socialist cause, therefore,"people oriented"is its one of basic principles. In the ideological and political education in colleges, we should take into account the influence of advanced theory on students, but also the problem that how students understand and accept the doctrine. At the present stage, there are many universities and colleges who ignore the concept"people oriented", which lies in the formalization simplification and abstraction of the ideological and political education. The main reason is their backward idea, rigid structure and obsolete methods, which results from the lack of deep understanding and implement of the principle"people oriented".The adherence to the principle"people oriented"is helpful to strengthen the effectiveness of ideological and political education, improve the comprehensive development of students and promote the education updated. In connection with the difficulties in ideological and political education and its causes, we should be directed by the concept"people oriented", probe into the new contents, ways and means of the ideological and political education actively, enhance the direction and effectiveness of the ideological and political education continuously and promote students to develop in a comprehensive, harmonious and free way. Therefore, in the ideological and political education in colleges, we should first change our ideas and respect the dominant position, the needs and characteristics of students; second, reform the institution of ideological and political education, make its training objectives more clear, create the new school-student relationship, enhance their service awareness, and strengthen the development of ideological and political ranks; last, innovate the methods, and insist the principle"people oriented"in order to increase the scientific work, reform the teaching method in political classes, pay more attention to the educational function of some certain hidden curricula, combine education with self-education, and try to create democratic, equal and harmonious atmosphere in campus culture.
