Chinese language teaching in Myanmar is divided into two catalogs:one is the "second language teaching mode" which is represented by Chinese school in south region such as Yangon; another is the "mother-tongue teaching mode" which is represented by Chinese language schools in north region such as Lashio and Taunggyi.Since having unique upbringing and cultural backgrounds, the overseas Chinese language learners who were born in northern Myanmar learn Chinese with distinctive way which is neither second language learning mode nor mother-tongue learning mode. Different teaching modes determine the teaching strategies used are quite different,this thesis is to research how to use appropriate teaching strategies at Chinese language schools in northern Myanmar.After reviewing briefly the study of history and current situation of classroom teaching strategies, author takes DonHua School as an example, using multiple research methods to study the status of teaching strategies used in the class in northern Myanmar Chinese language schools.In this thesis, author uses eight Chinese language classroom teaching strategies as standards to evaluate the status of teaching strategies used in DongHua School and to study the transmission and processing strategies from aspects of teachers and teaching contents. On the basis of observation, author puts forward some proposals which will be helpful to improve language teaching level in Myanmar Chinese language schools.
