A Study Of Sentence Patterns In Modern Chinese

In this thesis,study has been conducted on definition,classification,and correlation with syntax structure for modern Chinese existential sentence patterns based on tagged corpus,guided by "Three Planes Theory" and referred to case, valence, functional grammar and the like.First of all,the thesis makes a classification for existential sentence patterns and thereby establishes a system thereof for modern Chinese language.Accordingly,the existential sentence pattern system for modern Chinese language is established which is of hierarchy.Secondly,the thesis emphasizes on the correlation between the existential sentence patterns and their syntax structures.Owing to this correlation is also of hierarchy,the thesis analyzes,in detail,the correlations between the base, derivation, extension,complex existential sentence patterns and their corresponding syntax structures.We conclude that there are three types which are one-to-one,many-to-one, and many-to-many.Finally,the thesis surveys on the pragmatics of existential sentence patterns.In existential sentence patterns,the semantics place element at the beginning of a sentence is the pragmatics subject,which is also the starting point of a statement,it is definite.while the topic of the existential sentence patterns is the existential core and subject which describes the place.Additionally,seen from the exploited corpus,the pragmatic function of existential sentence pattern is not limited to description,and it also can interpret in most non-art styles such as speaking, practical writing and biography.The innovation of this paper is to:First, In this paper, the existing mode of study is based on the annotation corpus, this method is novel, and to improve the objectivity and accuracy of the research.Secondly,This study integrated use of a variety of grammatical theory, such as:three planes grammar theory, valence theory grammar, sentence mode of existence full and in-depth research.In this paper, the research on modern Chinese existence sentences has important implications, and deepen the study of modern Chinese semantic plane.
