In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty,meritorious military officials won the political right by credit,and gave the right unto their children,and it shall not perish.But in the Eastern Han Dynasty,the situation was different.After the unification of the country.meritorious military officials did not continue as a government job.Their descendants also had no political privileges.A few of their descendants not would to lose the right,they seized political power through various means,and formed their own political forces.The first chapter mainly discusses the political power of meritorious military officials and their descendants.After the unification of the country.meritorious military officials did not continue as a government job.Their descendants also had no prominent political Curriculum vitae,most of them only kept the title.This was quite deliberate though.Liu Xiu had a"political and military achievements"ideal,and through the civil service to accomplish this ideal.So.meritorious military officials was not Reused.ming and zhang emperor inherited Liu Xiu’s policy.However,Emperor Zhang adopt new policies, which led to government’s control of meritorious military officials was weakening.Therefore,a few of meritorious military officials rose again,and had formed its own political forces.The second chapter mainly discusses the ways meritorious military officials’ descendants rose again.They were united by marriage with the royal family, by holding the harem, to seize the political rights, at the same time they intermarried between to strengthen ties.They also formed the parties to ensure the stability of political rights.The generals began to transform themself into civil service, used a variety of ways to develop their own forces.
