The integration of business, technology and art design is a recent new trend ofinternational art design education in the new creative century, which becomes afavorite way to refine design education for cultivating innovative talents. It is also thehotspot regarding to the regeneration of Chinese art design education. Drawing uponsome western experience would assist to maximize the strengths whilst minimizingthe weaknesses when we establish the interdisciplinary design education. Thedissertation chooses to research the multidisciplinary design education in Britain,summarizing the development of cross-disciplinary design education firstly. Based onthe detailed analysis of educational aims, courses outline, teaching methods andoperation model, the article summarizes the characteristics of interdisciplinary designeducation in the UK as well as issues. Regarding to the rise of multidisciplinary artdesign education in China, the dissertation concludes with exploration of somefeasible recommendations for the development of interdisciplinary design educationin China.
