Portraits is a record for characters, but also carries the aesthetic and culturalin different periods. For a long time women became the best interpretation of the"Beauty", and costumes is also a very important element to express the characters.This paper analyzes the French19th-century portraits of women clothes by theperformance of the clothing fashion and interest as the starting point, and I havecollected a number of targeted screening painter painting the female figure andclothing information, combined with the prevailing fashion aesthetic as well ascultural and social painter observation of women, and their aesthetic, performanceand other techniques to explore the impact of these factors on the painter’s artisticideas and artistic picture, the analysis is different from their work place, but alsoto see them between tradition and innovation, to this deeper understanding of theirwork, as well as some reflection and inspiration we get in artistic creation. Thefirst part of this thesis analyzes the two different styles of painting genre,artistic features and major artists are introduced, and leads to the intersectionbetween them-female portraits and fashion interest. The second part analyzesIngres’s portraits of women to description classical fashion in the second halfperformance. The third part, combined with impressionist painting in the image ofwomen combing Impressionist painter of modern fashion expression, and with a similartheme was classical realist works some contrast. The last part of the analysis Ingresportraits classical stylish internal and Impressionist painters depicted the imageof women in the classical tradition of innovation and its causes, and revealsinteresting similarities and differences between their fashion interest, then elicittheir influence and inspiration.
