Simultaneous Interpretation, with a high processing load, requires high processingcapacity of the interpreter in the tasks of listening and analysis, memory, informationanalysis and the output. The effort model developed by Daniel Gile points out the threemain efforts and the operational requirements in the process of SI. The application ofthe “effort model” theory should be based on a concrete situation, so that the properstrategies can be devised. Taking China Heilongjiang-African Countries Economics andTrade Cooperation Conference,2013, as the case, the thesis analyzes the languagefeatures of international economic and trade conference and the common problemtriggers that are responsible for interpretation difficulties in international economic andtrade conference. And various strategies for improved interpretation are devised withrespect to three main operations, namely conference preparation, anticipation andreconstructing the segments in listening and analysis operation, segmentation and theuse of PPT in working memory, the omitting and conciseness in output part. Thesestrategies aim to decrease the capacity requirement in the three main efforts, and helpinterpretation proceed smoothly.
