The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the heterogeneity of high self-esteem and forgiveness to the resolution of interpersonal conflict in the college students.There are three studies in this paper. In the first study, the author uses2*2between-subjects design. And then,200college students are chosen to test and verify the effectiveness of the priming of the forgiveness. In the second study, the author chooses140college students to verify the two different distinguishing means between the defensive high self-esteem and the secure high self-esteem. On the basis of the previous studies, the author employs2*2between-subjects design to probe the relationship between the resolution of interpersonal conflict and the heterogeneity of high self-esteem and forgiveness.The conclusions are as follows:the college students with defensive high self-esteem tend to revenge the offenders, and the college students with secure high self-esteem resolve the interpersonal conflict with peaceful means; there are significant differences in the resolution of interpersonal conflict between the primed forgiveness group and the primed non-forgiveness group; in the college students with defensive high self-esteem, relative to the primed non-forgiveness group, the primed forgiveness group tend to use peaceful means to resolve interpersonal conflicts; in the college students with secure high self-esteem, there is no difference between the primed non-forgiveness group and he primed forgiveness group, in other words, the both groups have a tendency to resolve the interpersonal conflicts with peaceful means. |
