A Study On The Development Path Of Cultural Industry With Chinese Characteristics

It is of great importance to deepen the reform of cultural system, and promote vigorous development and enrichment of socialist culture for the need of our country to respond to the development and changes of the situation at home and abroad, and the need of the party to improve the level of leadership and governance. Meanwhile, it is the intrinsic requirement to build a comprehensive well-off society and accelerate our socialist modernization. Also, it is the fundamental requirement to carry out the important thought of Three Represents and the scientific outlook on development, to further practice the party’s mass line, and to meet people’s growing material and cultural needs. As a concrete form of culture’s development and progress, culture industry is used as the breakthrough point to further study Marxism cultural thought, which is of great significance in theory and practice to develop the research field of socialist theory with Chinese characteristics. This paper selects the culture industry’s development of Yangzhou as the research object for the reasons as follows. First of all, as one of the first national historical and cultural cities, Yangzhou enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. During her past2500years, she was regarded as the regional economic and cultural core for several times, when ancient literati gathered here and therefore there are so many famous words and meaningful sentences circulating to now, which has accumulated a rich cultural heritage. Secondly, Yangzhou is in the central of Jiangsu Province and is located in Yangtze River Delta Region with prospering cultural industry. Southwardly, Yangzhou can be affected by the regional radiation of Shanghai and Nanjing. Northwardly, Yangzhou can be a pioneer to develop northern Jiangsu. As a result, she has unique regional advantages and development potentials. Thirdly, since this century, Yangzhou has achieved such progress in cultural undertakings and culture industry that she has clustered a number of projects, formed a certain characteristic, and gained some experience, which can be used as model for other cities and regions. On the basis of Marxism cultural thought and the strategic deployment of cultural development in our country, this paper investigates the current situation of culture industry’s development in Yangzhou, analyzes the characteristics and deficiencies of culture industry, and explores the development path of culture industry in Yangzhou with the hope of providing some theoretical and practical guidance for the development of culture industry with Chinese characteristics and making a contribution to expand research in the field of Marxism cultural theory.
