While in China, as an emerging sport, but more and more people join the line dancing exercises in the past.In this paper, literature, questionnaires, logical analysis, statistics, expert interviews and other research methods, the feasibility of opening line dance elective course in common colleges and universities in jiangsu province for investigation and analysis, the following conclusion:(1) The average college courses in line dance has a certain significance, line dancing exercise not only have a positive impact on students of the physical, psychological and social development and ability to adapt to students also play a catalytic role, and is suitable as a lifelong exercise program.(2) Students from a variety of channels to know the line dance this emerging sports project, but the cognition of line dance is not clear. The motivation of students choose to open line dance courses, though each are not identical, but most still hope school, and that line dance have a good development prospect.(3) Engaged in difficulty and beauty related group of physical education teachers partial younger, educated, strong ability to accept new things etc, and they think through specialized learning and training, capable of line dance elective courses, which for line dance in college carried out to provide a guarantee of talent.(4) Jiangsu Province, most schools have not opened Dance courses, but most of the emerging sports leadership attaches great importance to carry out the project, so that the line dance carried out in support of university policy.(5) College venues and equipment can basically meet the needs of line dance courses offered.
