Tibetan Buddhism spread in Ordos Plateau,there are two opportunities. In the Yuan Dynasty, when the Tibetan Buddhism into Hetao region. Nowadays, A-er-zhai Grottos,Historic sites of Lamaism, was built In the Yuan Dynasty. The second time, Mongolian leaders accepted Lamaism in the Ming Dynasty.Ordos leaders met with Tibetan Buddhist leader At Yang hua temple of Qinghai Province.During the reign of the Wanli Emperor Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, The third Dalai Lama did Tibetan Buddhism’s missionary work to Ordos.More than ten the famous Tibetan Buddhist temple were built by Ordos leaders.Emperor of Qing Dynasty Encouraged the development of Tibetan Buddhist in Mongolia.Pious Mongolia Herdsman and Aristocracy believed in Tibetan Buddhist and built many temples. These temples take the shape of groups.Mongolian herders were control by Tibetan Buddhist.Mongolian people’s lives was permeated by Religious spirit of Tibetan Buddhist. An ordinary people in Mongolia fully believed Lama. Shamanism had Powerful control in ordos region.From yuan to now,Ordos city was the central region of Mongolian Shamanism. In other parts of the ordos region, it had weaker influefce than other areas by Tibetan Buddhist.Republic of China period, Tibetan Buddhist inherited Religious heritage of Qing dynasty.But the power of Shamanism was weaken by foreign cultures and economic decline. After the founding of New China, the activities of Shamanism were stoped and Lamas were forced to return to wecular life.Many temples of Shamanism, it was forced to destroy by Revolutionary people.Since the third CCPplenary conference, Religious policy of Party and government has led Shamanism to step onto the road of opening-up, and reversed the Tibetan Buddhist destiny of ordos region.
