| Jinghong, the State capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, islocated in the south of Yunnan province. The combination of multiple nationalitiesand the new changes of the Economic Development stimulated the language situationof Jinghong——bilingualism (multilingualism). Based on two Category-1ports here Jinghong Wharf and Xishuangbanna Airport. Thisthesis surveyed and researched the language situation of Official Domain, Cultureand Education, Mass Media, public services, Public Communication and DailyCommunication, analyzed their characteristic, made rationalization proposal for theconstruction of about the language situation. Under the guidance of sociolinguistics,applied linguistics, ecology of language and social psychology, language capabilities,performancesd, attitudes were taken into account comprehensively with the SPSS17.0software.The thesis is totally divided into seven chapters except Introduction andConclusion. Chapter One introduces general information about geography, population,nationality and language of Jinghong and the two Category-1ports, at the same timeintroduces the dividing method of language situation and how to survey. Chapter Twosurveys officers’ language capabilities, performancesd and the languageperformancesd of visitors’ whom be received by officers. Chapter Three surveysteachers’ and students’ language capabilities, performancesd, requirement for Cultureand Education. Chapter Four surveys the language situation of Mass Media,requirement for Mass Media. Chapter Five surveys the language capabilities,performancesd of Sales and service personnel, customers’ language performancesd.Chapter Six surveys the language situation of Public Communication. Chapter Sevensurveys the language situation of Daily Communication. Chapter Two to Sevenshows the result of the surveying in details; each Chapter were divided two sections,one shows the date and the other analyse the characteristic and cause of formation. |
