Chinese has abundant classifiers. The collocation between classifiers and nouns of Chinese is very complex and confusing to foreign students, and it makes a large memory burden to them when they learning Chinese classifiers. Because the classifiers are used to classify nouns, and categorization(classification) is a major way of human to know and understand the world, so this article tries to analyze and interpret the representative classifiers which are used frequently in modern Chinese, from cognition view, through revealing the cognitive foundation or the categorization process of the classifiers. Make the students know what the classifiers are, and know more by cause, so that to reduce the learning burden, to ease fear of hardship, to urge students to use the classifiers actively and properly. This article also analyze the classifier part of Elementary Comprehensive Course(Ⅰ&Ⅱ) of Developing Chinese and analyze their merits and demerits, to propose some skills to use it interpreting the classifiers. Based on the analysis of the textbook and combined with cognitive theory and common errors of foreign students, we put forward several suggestions for classifiers teaching, from both "teaching" and "learning" two parts.
