A Study On The Continuous Complementary Adverbs For Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

In modern Chinese,there is a kind of adverbs presentes continuous quantifiercooperating adverbs( "Lian", "Yilian", "Lianlian", "Jielian", "Lianzhe", "Yilianqi"). Using this type of adverbs often required the numeral-classifier phrases co-occurrence, while their co-existing conditions are not exactly the same.On the basis of the existing academic research, the continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs are divided into three categories in this article, and describes the usages of these three continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbsby class. On the basic research, we make teaching designsfor the continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs.Viscidlyquantifieradverbs is just "Yilian". It is the numeral-classifier phrases co-occurring in the form of three ways. Semi-viscidly quantifieradverbs contain "Lian", "Jielian","Lianzhe", "Yilianqi". "Lian" co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases in total present in the form of three ways, "Lian" not co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases, followed by the verb is monosyllabic verbs, nouns mostly two-syllable. When a direct quotation is repetitive content, ithas a function equivalent to the numeral-classifier phrases. "Jielian" co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases in total present in the form of four ways, "Jielian" not co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases, followed with a two-syllable verb or more for more than two-syllable ingredients, or the numeral-classifier phrases in a position parallel to the emergence of a phrase, or before "Jielian" there is repeating direct quotations. "Lianzhe" co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases in total present in the form of two ways, the numeral-classifier phrases in the remaining cases may occur or may not occur; the numeral-classifier phrases in a position parallel to the emergence of the phrase, the numeral-classifier phrases does not have to appear. "Yilianqi" co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases in total present in the form of four ways, "Yilianqi" may not co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases, but then often match "de" or parallel phrase. From the above, the Semi-continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs must co-occurrence with the numeral-classifier phrases in some cases, the numeral-classifier phrases need not co-occurrence in other cases.Non-viscidlyquantifieradverbs is only "Lianlian", which at present only “Lianlian + V + repeatedly quantitative complement / object containing the number of ingredients". In this case, "Lianlian" with the number of components represented mostly empty volume.Based on the above, we divide three continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs into different vocabulary levels, and determine teaching objects, content of textbooks, teaching principles, teaching objectives and teaching methods for the continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs. Also, we defined teaching designs for each continuous quantifier-cooperating adverbs.
