The basic task of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is to teach learners how to learn Chinese, namely teach learners how to regulate the use of Chinese, make it able to use Chinese for communication without any barrier. In the concrete teaching process, vocabulary teaching plays an extremely important role, needs special attention. In Chinese sentences, words not only acts as the semantic composition and grammatical structure, but also deserves more attention because of the cultural implication. In the teaching process, word conveys not only severely covered the Chinese rich cultural connotation, but also more in virtually increased the difficulty of teaching and learning. In so many words, symbolization and symbolic words by its unique richness naturally become the important and difficult in teaching. Therefore, to dig into the cultural connotations of symbolic words, according to the characteristics of the symbolic words formulate rational and effective teaching strategy, teaching Chinese as a foreign language is to promote long-term development of the important way.The Chinese nation towards the expression of image type, good at according to the characteristics of the objective things to express their thoughts and feelings. Compared with general language, the symbolic words expressing effect, more and more can reflect the social system, customs and habits, such as traditional art culture significance. Correct understanding of the symbolism of the symbolic words and cultural source, can improve the learners’ intercultural communication competence, push forward the steady development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Symbol words teaching should take lexicology, cultural linguistics, structuralist linguistics theory as the foundation, the author considers, combining previous research results, to explore the production of symbolic words, analyzing the characteristics of the symbolic words. From the perspective of whether alleged object it divided into alleged object symbol of words and not refer to the object’s symbolic words two kinds big. By representing the relationship of language and culture, the symbolic words teaching in close contact with culture, which further reveals the expression the necessity and importance of cultural significance. At the same time, combined with Lev Vygotsky’s "zone of proximal development theory", Piaget’s "cognitive development theory" and the Ausubel "meaningful learning" theory, according to the symbolic words teaching to put forward the teaching principle, timely, moderate amount of elaboration, find by hard and thorough search method; the development of direct method and create situational teaching, so that students can a symbol of the cultural meaning of a word based on the understanding of the in communication freely use. To further improve the learners’ language proficiency and ability of cross culture communication, provide reference resources for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
