A Comparative Study Of Western Marxist Ideology

While genres of Western Marxist theory of ideology is complicated, their in-depthacademic research is not enough and still in relatively dispersed phase-onecomparison..This paper focuses on comparative studies of different scholars of WesternMarxist theory of ideology,traces its theoretical sources, analyzes its content and formcharacteristics, discovers and reveals its rational core of its limitations, its essence to itsdregs, in order to promote the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Guided by the marxist historical materialism, this paper mainly adopts literatureresearch and comparative research, emphatically from the four dimensions of ideology(dimensions of science, political dimension and value dimension and constructiondimension) differentiate different western marxist scholars in their respective coreargument in ideology theory, especially to comb the three main schools of westernmarxism ideological theory research, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of allkinds of different opinions.The three schools: one is the representative figure ofmarxism human-basis doctrine lukacs, gramsci continued the ideological theory ofLenin neutral sense, emphasize the mature proletarian ideology leading role in therevolution. The second is the representative figure of structuralist marxism althussernegative significance of ideological theory, emphasizes the absolute opposition betweenideology and science. The third is western marxism, juergen habermas,a typicalrepresentative of Frankfurt school, under the background of modernity from theperspective of the legitimacy of trying to rebuild of Marx’s historical materialism toexplain mode, explore the ideological process of science and technology, points out thepossible path beyond the ideology of science and technology.In this paper, a comparative study focused on the content of the western marxistideological criticism of science and technology, the true value of ideology, probe, thepolitical functions of social ideology and diversified ideological construction of thebody.
