Among those four Chinese language skills:listening, speaking, reading and writing, writing is the most difficult one. NLSI-Y of Chinese advanced course in the summer of 2014 shows that while Chinese learners have a considerable amount of reserves in all aspects of Chinese characters, vocabulary, grammars and so on, their writing skill is obviously weak which is not be promoted easily in a short time. This thesis takes those advanced course students as the research objects, collecting students’Chinese compositions as a pointcut, it sums up the writing advantages and disadvantages of America advanced level Chinese learners from the Chinese characters, vocabulary, punctuation, sentence, discourse cohesion and writing style.By analyzing the results of questionnaires and students interviews, writer analysis and sums up the causes. On this basis, this paper puts forward some suggestions on writing teaching in Chinese advanced course, includeing:improving the teachers’ cognition level and teaching ability of Chinese writing, strengthening the textual cohesion skill in teaching and training, strengthening teaching knowledge and ability of stylistic; strengthening writing feedback and correction.
