In the process of consecutive interpreting, interpreters often come across some complex, long and various English long sentences, which makes it difficult for interpreters to cope with. Many English sentences are quite different from Chinese ones, which also makes it difficult for interpreters to convert English long sentences to Chinese quickly, smoothly and faithfully. According to the author’s practice of the interpreting of Obama’s speech at Cairo University, and through the analysis of the recording, in order to make the interpreters better interpret the source language context, the writer summarizes some interpreting strategies, the final purpose of which is to help interpreters better interpret the English long sentences in consecutive interpreting. |
