Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs)are important windows for disseminating knowledge.Interpreting MOOC can promote understanding between different cultures.Long sentence is a challenge in MOOC interpreting. Moreover, wordy, disordered and run-on sentences pose greater challenges to interpreters. The author chose Mongolian Folklore as the corpus. There were many disordered and fuzzy sentences and the interpreter had to interpret the long sentence in a limited time. Therefore, the interpreter faced great challenges in this process. To find interpreting strategies for long sentences, the interpreter selected two episodes of Mongolian Folklore as the corpus of this simulated consecutive interpreting task. The interpreter put forward three strategies based on the interpretive theory which were simplification, reorganization and division.Simplification was for deleting redundant and repeated information to make the long sentence concise.Reorganization was for correcting disordered and polishing broken sentences to make the long sentence smooth.Division was for splitting the long sentence according to sense groups and the coherence between clauses to clarify the logic and to reduce the pressure of the interpreter.By implementing the three strategies, the interpreter overcame obstacles of wordy, disordered and run-on sentences.Besides, the interpreter believes that terminology, parallel text and background knowledge can make the interpreting more efficient and accurate.Besides,a successful interpreting task is the combination of language proficiency, background knowledge and professionalism. After this simulated consecutive interpreting, the interpreter has deepened his understanding about interpreting and improved his interpreting ability and hopes that the three interpreting strategies are helpful to other interpreters.
