Intellectual Property or Intellectual Property Rights, which mainly includes copyright and industrial property, means intellectual creative achievements. English Intellectual Property Contract is a kind of professional text. It has a relatively fixed structure and the majority of their sentences are long and complex. So, three principles should be followed when we translate English Intellectual Property Contract into Chinese, namely using accurate and precise words, choosing clear and fluent translation and wording correctly and normatively. Only with the guidance of the above three principles, will its Chinese translation be more in line with the requirement of its text features. Literal translation method should be adopted when we translate vague words in English Intellectual Property Contract into Chinese, which just need convey the surface meaning of them. And when translating the pairing words we should find the shared meaning of the two English words and combined them into one Chinese word. The conjunction “or” does not always indicate the selection relationship in any case, and in some special situations it may indicate parallel meaning. The translation of vague words and pairing words, and the unconventional translation of the conjunction “or” are three important aspects of the translation of typical vocabulary in this practice report. This report,in addition to the above contents, introduce and analyzes the static features of the English sentences and the dynamic characteristics of the Chinese sentences. To find out the differences between the static nature of English and the dynamic features of Chinese contributes to translating English sentences into Chinese ones that are well in line with the Chinese expression habit.
