In the twentieth century, modern western society had plenty of material products and people were indulged in the superficial prosperous, the problems on the existence and valuation and liberation of human beings had almost been forgotten with the realization of moderation by most people. But Herbert Marcuse, as a famous philosopher of Frank school thought, stood the opposition of the society and viewed the real features of modern people. He established humanistic critical theory on the existence of human being. He accepted the thoughts of Heidegger and Fred and Marx and made his own explanation and addition. The destiny of one dimension man who lost negation and criticism was the core of his humanistic criticism. He disposed the features that people had great material but had sad spirit life from alienation of consumption, repression of intrinsic quality, lack of real freedom and deterioration of existence environment. He advocated revolution from the total and the main was instinct revolution by a method of refusal in order to emancipate the people from the repression. The liberation of intrinsic quality or liberation of Eros was last goal of his criticism theory. As a bourgeois scholar, his theory had much drawback, so it had great Utopia. But his critical theory came into being in the course of moderation society, so it had important enlightenment to Chinese moderation.
