With already thirty years of reform, and an international and rapid influence, Tunisians people know more and more about China and Chinese culture now; they also know about some Chinese culture symbols. But these symbols are not enough to well understand the Chinese culture, and can’t also be used to serve teaching purposes. So I hope that through my research, I can help Tunisian students to more understand the Chinese culture, and make the exchange and the communication between Tunisia and china more and more harmonious. Most of foreign Chinese language students want to know more about Chinese culture, because China civilization is one of the oldest in the world, it has about 5000 year of history and culture, so they have a lot of curiosity to know more about it. But because of the great cultural differences between each country, students will face some difficulties and misunderstanding. For example foreigners can not understand the word "FACE" in Chinese or they can not accept some Chinese food etc, because they think all of these things are so strange. So when teaching them will find that they are not able to accept it. In my article I choose Tunisian Chinese language students as subject of my research, because China and Tunisia have a great difference whatever in distance, language, history, religion or any other culture side, Tunisian Chinese language students also faces all these kind of cultural differences. This misunderstanding can be caused by other facts besides the cultural differences like the content of Chinese language courses, teaching materials and teaching methods etc.I adopt the investigation method on the questionnaire, coupled with consolidation, compare and analyze, to give some appropriate suggestions, I hope Tunisian people will more understand the Chinese culture, and provide feasibility premise and reference for our Chinese language teaching research. This paper is divided into five parts, including the four chapters of the main text, and the conclusion part. The main contents of each part are as follows:The first chapter is about the characters of cultural symbols, the concept and selection of cultural symbols, and the composition of Chinese cultural symbols. The second chapter, is about the survey method and interview method, I designed a questionnaire survey for three kind of different subjects; Tunisia non Chinese learners, Tunisia Chinese language students and Tunisian Chinese learners who already came to China. The third chapter, is using the comparative analysis method, arrange the data of the questionnaire survey, separately analyze the cultural symbol of the people in Tunisia; the cultural symbol analysis of the higher degree of the public recognition, the gap between the non Chinese learners and the Chinese learners on the culture symbols identification, and a comparative analysis between the Chinese learners and the Chinese learners who came to China. In the fourth chapter, according to the analysis of survey data, I gave some suggestions for the cultural dissemination and culture teaching in Tunisia. The conclusion part is summarizing the main points of the article and the inadequacies of the research.
