The stage of middle school is an important transition period during the growth of a person’s whole life. Teenagers in adolescence are just in the stage of rapid development physically and psychologically. During this period, individual emotions fluctuate, thus it is easy to result in various psychological health problems. Meta-emotion is the new field of emotional intelligence, which is the ability of individual expression, recognition, regulation and anticipation of own emotions. Researches both at home and abroad all show that individuals with high meta-emotion level can better regulate and reasonably express their own emotions. Positive psychological capital is the hot spot among the researches in recent years. Individuals with high level of psychological capital have higher adaptability, life satisfaction and level of psychological health. However, there are quite a few researches in the field of middle school. Thus this paper aims at studying the relationship among positive psychological capital, meta-emotion and social adjustment under the perspective of positive psychology. This research selects 598 middle school students in Xi’an, investigates their psychological capital, meta-emotion and social adjustment through questionnaire survey and studies relationship among those three parties by variation analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediation analysis. The result shows:1. Middle school students generally possess higher positive psychological capital. There are no dominant differences in the aspect of gender or grade. There are dominant differences in the aspect of academic record, family economic situation, relationship with parents and holding the post of cadre.2. Middle school students have comparatively high meta-emotions. There are no dominant differences in the aspect of grade. There are dominant differences in the aspect of expression and recognition dimension, that of girls is higher than that of boys. There are dominant differences in the aspect of academic record, family economic situation, relationship with parents, educational method and holding the post of cadre.3. There are dominant correlation among middle school students’positive psychological capital level, meta-emotion and social adjustment.4. To a certain extent, meta-emotion and positive psychological capital can predict the level of social adjustment. Of which, the expression and regulation dimension of meta-emotion can explain 41.1% variation of social adjustment. Four dimensions of positive psychological capital can predict the social adjustment and explain 54.3% variation of dependent variable.5. Meta-emotion plays part of role in the positive psychological capital and social adjustment. The intermediary effect accounts for 55.35% of the total ratio.
