The outstanding figures of Lin Fengmian and Xu Beihong the two China history of art education has made a great contribution to the China art education, they have the similar experience of childhood, learning experience and social environment. In Chinese painting faced with the plight of the moment, they for the development of Chinese painting painted brilliant with their own claims, a comparative study of the educational thoughts of the fine arts of the two, the heart suddenly have the most intuitive feelings: Art learners should remain free in thought, action, maintain a rigorous, so as to avoid the art creation because it is too free and aimlessly out new works; too stiff to create works is nothing new. At that time the domestic art appeared in two voices: a total negation of Chinese tradition of painting, only to learn the western modern art; second is to uphold the fine tradition Chinese painting, resist the invasion of foreign art. When the critical moment this artistic disputes facing the country, Lin Fengmian and Xu Beihong analyzed the relationship between Western and Oriental Art, art is the traditional painting freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting: China heavy, Western painting realistic, if the two can combine with each other, and each director, it can promote the revival of Chinese art. So the essence of Lin Fengmian’s Art Education-- "Western blending" was born; the core of Xu Beihong’s Art Education Thought-- "financial West into" appeared. Of course, although the ideas and practice of teaching art of the two still have deficiencies, but their contribution to the art education is obviously. Through a comparative study of the two, helps the reflections on the history of dialectical thinking, and learn from the experience, so that the China art education development.
