| Role is the basic foundation of animated film,and character is a very important part in its creation. Pixar animated film has been made tremendous contribution, and at the same time, it has been made unique styles in some terms of characters. This paper uses 14 Pixar animated films for the study of the text, begins with the point of characterization, and use the theory of narratology to elaborate roles in animated films, then select some of the roles of specific shape to analyze, and summarise as well as discuss the general role and special quality of characters’ shaping strategy.The main parts of this paper include four parts, the second part mainly discuss the same and differences to other film role in animation films, and classified objects, human character, animal character, and imagine the classification of the role in Pixar animation films; the third part analyzes several classic roles in Pixar animation films, including Toy Story I and The Incredibles, Toy Story II and Up, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.; the forth part is a conclusion of strategy in characterization, especially pay attention to the change of character relationships and personality, then strengthen the credibility of character and logic, breaking the mold of roles and audiences’ expectation, and focus on rich its connotation in narrative time and space; the fifth part discusses what influnce that Pixar animation film bring to Chinese animation film characters, and give several suggestions for the problems which Chinese animation film facing, such as researching new technologies for characterization, shaping roles like real people, continuing shape roles in more space and so on.The conclusion part summarizes roles’ creating law in Pixar animation films, then combing with China’s animation cultural ecology to put forward to several suggestion for characterization in our animation films, and trying to make it achievable, in order to provide a certain reference for Chinese animation films’ creation and research. |
