A Study Of Crime Narration In "Crime And Punishment"

Dostoevsky is one of the greatest writers in history of literature in Russia, he created many heroes with strong characteristics and personalities. Making a general survey of Dostoevsky’s creations, criminal behaviors have been shown very frequently in his creations, especially in his most famous creation <Crime and Punishment>, all the details in this story are caused by one crime. Firstly, this paper is based on analyzing and classifying the criminals and criminal behaviors in Dostoevsky’s creation. Afterwards, regarding <Crime and Punishment> as the point of analysis, the author of this paper combined the Dostoevsky’s experience, the religious faith and the social environment, twisted human nature of Russia, put the poetics, aesthetics, criminal psychology, and the research and theory of Freud Sigmund and Jung Carl Gustav into application, by means of Dostoevsky’s description in this particulars of offense, to analyse the criminal cause, process and result in <Crime and Punishment>.
