On The Consciousness Of "Sketch" In Flower And Bird Painting In Song Dynasty

In Song Dynasty, the development of flower-bird painting reached the peak stage. The extremely high artistic achievements of flowers and birds have a lot to do with Song Dynasty social background. Developing economy, blending culture, popularizing and deepening imperial examination system and governors’ hobbies etc have produced a great impact on the development of flowers and birds painting. Meanwhile, flower- bird painting has been regarded as social need in folk. Owing to attaching importance and giving support of painting in Song Dynasty, flowers and birds painting made great development, entered mature stage,showed vigorous life and presented state of prosperity during Song Dynasty. At the same time,it formed quiet and peaceful, elegant and long aesthetic tendency during this period.Flower-bird painting during Song Dynasty attached great importance to the sketch.Meanwhile, Song people formed rigorous and pragmatic style of painting with the influence on the Neo-Confucianism thought of investigation of things and practice “li”. They paid attention to imitate the nature and penetrate natural species so as to draw the life charm and pursue the poetic on the basis of vitality of all things, which not only made painting vividly,lyrical, and formed a poetic artistic conception, but also embodied the Chinese traditional humanities and philosophy of two song period.This thesis discusses the topic on song people’s consciousness of sketching based on consulting related document literature and appreciating and analyzing flower-bird painting in Song Dynasty. To begin with, this thesis described the development of flower-bird painting sketching consciousness during two song period. Secondly, Song people’s consciousness of sketching performance has been stressed in this thesis. Lastly, this thesis explored the enlightenments of contemporary from the Song people’s consciousness of sketching, which included the author’s understanding and experience of studying Song people’s flower-bird painting. This thesis paid more attention to analyze the flower-bird painting’s development,performance, functions and practical significances from the angles of theories and aesthetics.At the same time, this thesis made understanding, summary and reflection to flower-bird painting sketch consciousness in Song Dynasty, which is a profound significance of inheriting and carrying forward Chinese ancient canonical painting essence and promoting the development of modern traditional Chinese realistic painting flower and-bird painting and art creation and theoretical research.
