A Study On The Spread Of Musical Culture In Yan'an Area In Yan'an Period (1935-1948)

Yan’an period is a special historical period in modern Chinese history. Yan’an, as the core of the anti-Japanese forces command area and the place for gathering information of cultural transmission, was led by the Chinese Communist Party and guided by political ideology(Marxist revolutionary ideas) during Yan’an period. Yan’an literature was formed and developed during that time, and it played a helping role in anti-Japanese and also it facilitated to consummate the local literature. Among great achievements, the productive development of music culture could not be ignored. This is because music itself would not be actually implemented without the spread of music. Therefore, the research on the diffusion of music culture in Yan’an during that time has become the main content of this paper. The article contains the following sections: 1. 1935-1948 Yan’an City located at the foot of pagoda mountainDiffusion is inseparable from the diffusion environment. In terms of diffusion environment, it has many constraints. For example, within one specific diffusion area, regionalism and humanity would, to varying degrees, have a direct or indirect impact on diffusion methods and diffusion results. It is therefore essential to take the diffusion environment in Yan’an city into consideration. The author focuses on literary environment and social environment in Yan’an city, elaborating on the diffusion environment of music culture. 2. Music Dissemination ActivitiesDisseminators, dissemination contents, the media, the audience and the dissemination results are the main factors constituting dissemination activities. Music and cultural achievements during this period in Yan’an were undoubtedly prosperous. The development of music during that period showed not only its own unique features but its special historical mission. The author objectively elaborates on the dissemination process of music culture in Yan’an through Lasswell diffusion mode. 3. Causes, features and impacts of music culture diffusion modesMusic diffusion mode in the Yan’an period basically followed Lasswell’s but also displayed its own diffusion features. For this reason, the diffusion mode in this period might differ from those general modes, thus forming its particularity regarding diffusion mode. Investigating the causes of the particularity in terms of diffusion mode holds the key to address issues mentioned in this paper. In addition, the features and its present impacts as well as subsequent effects will be discussed in the following sections. 4. Social significance, historical role and cultural influencesEvery diffusion conduct will have a certain degree of social, historical and cultural influences. The author finally processes and summarizes the social, historical and cultural impacts caused by the whole diffusion process and its results through a series of objective statement from historical perspective and the analysis of diffusion mode, which is based on music culture diffusion activities during the specific historical period in Yan’an area. Moreover, diffusion process would in turn contribute to achievements of music culture accumulation and acts of heritage protection. Finally, the mutual relationship on influence and interdependence between music culture as a carrier and diffusion acts should be affirmed.
